There will be multiple spaces for Dance these days. First, a new Acosta Danza season with three world premieres in the Great Theater of Havana; also, plenty of movement around Old Havana streets because of the Dance in Urban Landscapes International Festival; and the opening in Cuba of an extremely well received Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba piece.

If you want something else, we also have Visual Arts with several exhibitions. On the musical part, there will be Van Van and NG La Banda concerts in Havana, and the Dayme Arocena Tour in USA, and of course a lot more.

In the FAC proposals, music, theater, dance and a very special film premiere. And very soon the 21st French Film Festival in Cuba will start. So keep online and follow us.

New encounter with Acosta Danza

The company Acosta Danza comes back to the Great Theater with the new season Encuentros. Presentations will be this weekend as part of the 120 anniversary of Japanese migration in Cuba.

Carlos Acosta’s company will premiere two creations by Saburo Teshigwara, the most important Japanese choreographer according to the international critics. One of them specially conceived for the Cuban company. In addition, to complete the program there will be another world premiere with choreograph by Swedish Pontus Lidberg and music by Leo Brouwer and Stephan Levin.

Havana in movement

Next Wednesday 11th will began in Old Havana the 23rd edition of the Dance in Urban Landscapes International Festival. Will participate artist from 16 countries and last until April 15th. There will be also expos, concerts and screenings, all together with the street dancing all over Old Havana.

As every year, the festival will also have workshops, conferences and master classes. But we’ll have a more detail info further.

Cuba vibes with Lizt Alfonso

Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba will premiere in the Theater La Caridad, in Santa Clara, the show Cuba Vibra!, a dance version of the successful musical Amigas. This will be the first stage in Cuba hosting the newest Lizt Alfonso creation, but the company will be also in Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba and Havana.

Red Chambelon tales

Group Red Chambelon and the Development Center of the Visual Arts invite to the expo Cuentos de Lobos, today, at 6 pm.

Diamante en bruto

Tomorrow, at 7 pm, Gallery Arte Continua inaugurates the collective expo Diamante en bruto with pieces by eight artists. Address: Rayo 108, btw Zanja and Dragones, Chinatown.

French Cinema in Cuba for 21th time

As usual, here it comes the always-wanted French Film Festival in Havana. This year will begins next April 11th and will bring a broad program including 24 titles: 14 premieres, one animated film, 3 documentaries, 5 classics and the very special presentation of the Cuban-French coproduction El otro Cristobal. For the opening night they ́ll screen La fiesta de la vida and the well-known actor Pierre Richard will be in the visiting delegation.

For the first time the festival will be in every single 23rd Ave. cinema and in Acapulco movie theater. The other good news is Cine 23 y 12 will continue with the festival until 29th. Here you have the full program, click it.
