Since last March 11 and after yesterday’s testing, when 14 positive cases were detected, Cuba has diagnosed 2,133 people with COVID-19, as reported today by the authorities of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
For the sixth consecutive day, the SARS-CoV-2 virus did not cause deaths and the number of deceased remains at 83.

Twelve of the fourteen infections corresponded to Havana and, according to Dr. Francisco Durán, 7 of them are related to the transmission event that originated in the AICA Laboratories. Meanwhile, two were detected in Matanzas, one in the main municipality and the other in Limonar.

All the new infections correspond to Cubans and 13 were related to confirmed cases; 12 are men while the most affected age groups are concentrated between 40 and 59 years, with 8 cases, followed by the group of 20 to 39, with five; 92.8% were asymptomatic.
Yesterday there were 9 medical discharges, with which the number of recovered amounts to 1,848 patients on the island. Three people remained in serious condition.
The country has processed a total of 114,464 tests and, as of yesterday’s close, 521 people were hospitalized and 2,036 were under primary healthcare surveillance in their homes.
