Show diving from the inside

The first stop of the VI World Series Red Bull Cliff Diving in Havana, left an unexpected champion, confirming the good moment of a rising star in the sport and the steady pace of the previous three monarchs, who, although not reaching the top warmed up and their best can be seen in the upcoming stops.

Out of the competitive environment, the Morro Castle, Havana and its people the daring protagonists of the art lived countless experiences in more than one occasion, from long rides in old cars around town to the walk through historic sites.

Perhaps the most sensational and striking of these episodes was the trip in classic cars, in which each chose their preferred ones to ride around Havana and get to Morro for the final competition. The caravan could be made of jewels like Chevrolet 1951 and 1952, a Ford of the 20s or Plymouth 56, all virtually extinct in the rest of the universe, at most placed in museums, but never exploited half a century later of creation.

It was exactly that charm what captivated divers; some more than others, like Orlando Duque, who even dared to take the wheel to experience in mobile relics.

This was just a brushstroke of the diver journey; teasers for excellence, people who have learned to live in communion with a supreme but very healthy rivalry, in a welcoming environment conducive to relaxation and then take the risk of launching in free fall from 27 meters.

So juggling tennis balls, dancing on the platform prior to the jump or sunbathing that high , recorded advertisement and photos are shot anywhere, literally clowning . For this, the Morro was a superb scene where everyone lived their particular colonial adventures, perched on ancient cannons and imprisoned in the labyrinths of the castle
