SARS-CoV-2 virus infections decreased in Cuba this Wednesday. This time, the number of new positive cases reached 39, of which eight acquired the virus abroad, according to today’s report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
Of the total, 31 correspond to Cubans and eight to Venezuelans who are carriers of the virus upon arrival on the island and whose data is based on the records of Matanzas, a province that reported nine infections, of which eight were these cases with a source of infection abroad.

The rest of the provinces that report new COVID-19 patients were Pinar del Río, with 32 cases in three municipalities, and a worse situation in Consolación del Sur; Sancti Spíritus, with four cases in the provincial capital and Ciego de Ávila, with three cases in the Ciro Redondo municipality.
Of the total of cases, 30 were contacts of confirmed cases and the source of infection is not specified in only one individual.
