Coronavirus: Cuba adds 169 new positive cases in last 24 hours

According to the report issued by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), at the close of this Friday, 3,095 patients were hospitalized, 550 of them classified as suspects and 1,570 active cases with the coronavirus.

Cuba registered 169 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, with which the total number of patients during the epidemic of the disease on the island amounted to 12,225.

According to the report issued by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), at the close of this Friday, 3,095 patients were hospitalized, 550 of them classified as suspects and 1,570 active cases with the coronavirus.

Yesterday 11,243 samples were studied to detect the presence of the virus, some 2,850 real-time PCR tests less than the previous day.

Of the reported cases, 87 were infected abroad, 79 are contacts of previously confirmed cases and in another three the source of infection could not be specified.

76.3% of the patients diagnosed in the last 24 hours did not present symptoms of the disease, so the total number of asymptomatic cases since March on the island reached 7,952, which represents 65.9% of those confirmed until now.

According to information from the MINSAP, 1,545 hospitalized patients present a stable clinical evolution, while the number of patients in intensive care reached 25, of them 11 reported as critical and 14 serious.

With no deaths from COVID-19 at the end of Friday, the number of deaths due to the pandemic on the island remains at 146.

Yesterday 149 people were discharged from hospital. Now 10,494 patients have recovered from the disease caused by the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic in Cuba.
