Four deaths and an increase in the number of daily infections from the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which this time reaches 408 people with whom the total number of patients amounts to 19,530, is the record of the pandemic in the last 24 hours, according to the report of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
Except for the case of a 56-year-old man, most of the deceased are over 80, a figure that continues to indicate an age group that has been severely affected by the pandemic, and which represents an alert if one takes into account that today most of the new positive cases were registered in the ages of 40 to 59 years (133) and in those over 60 (80).

The fatality rate remains at 0.94% and the total number of deaths is already 184.
In addition, the ages of those who remain in intensive care—46 patients until midnight yesterday (18 in critical condition and 28 in serious condition)—oscillates, with the exception of two minors: a 7-month-old baby and a thirteen-year-old adolescent.
In short, of the 408 COVID-19 patients identified this Tuesday, 380 were autochthonous and 28 imported: 371 were confirmed cases and in nine individuals the source of infection was not specified: 13 were not Cuban.
By provinces, Havana registered the largest number of patients (196 between imported and autochthonous), followed by Santiago de Cuba (57) and Guantánamo (37), although all provinces reported infections, including the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality, with five autochthonous cases.
Yesterday, 11,433 samples were processed, according to the MINSAP, which reported 9,215 interned people this Tuesday, of them 5,351 in hospitals. The number of active cases is 4,557; 263 people were discharged.
