As of today Tuesday, the Cuban embassy in the United States is suspending its person-to-person consular services at the Consular Office in Washington DC, as a consequence of the expansion of the coronavirus and the declaration of National Emergency, issued on March 13 by the U.S. government.

The consular headquarters will offer non-person-to-person procedures through the post or the agencies with which the Consulate has an established contract, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in INFORMATION NOTE No. 1/2020.

Given the expansion of COVID-19, the diplomatic headquarters reiterated to the Cuban community residing in the United States the need to strictly comply with the instructions and recommendations provided by the health authorities, as well as the need to keep informed through official sources and communication channels of the Cuban Embassy and Consulate.

So far, there are more than 4,600 infected persons in the United States, and there are already 85 deaths. The country is in eighth place, taking into account the incidence of the pandemic, which has already contaminated more than 185,000 persons worldwide.
