Cuban health authorities reported 727 new cases of coronavirus at the end of this Tuesday, with which the island remained in the vicinity of 700 daily infections for the third consecutive day.
Now the number of patients detected in Cuba since the beginning of the pandemic rose to 63,725.
In addition, the Caribbean country reached 380 fatalities from COVID-19 with the day’s four deaths. Meanwhile, 59,550 patients have already recovered, with the 940 discharges given yesterday.
A total of 21,947 people are hospitalized due to this disease, of which 3,716 are suspects, 14,492 are under surveillance and 3,739 have already been confirmed.
Among the active cases, 3,675 present a stable clinical evolution, while 64 are in intensive care: 33 in critical condition and 31 in serious condition, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

As for the 727 new infections, these were detected after 20,132 PCR samples were processed in 23 molecular biology laboratories. Of these, 723 are autochthonous (715 contacts of confirmed cases and eight with no known source of infection), while only four were imported from Spain, Russia, the United States and Brazil.
By sex, 381 were female and 346 were male; while 379 were asymptomatic at the time of their diagnosis.
Regarding the age groups of the patients, the island’s health authorities were alarmed by the 129 under 20 years of age, and within them by the 120 in pediatric ages and the seven confirmed infants.
In addition, 239 positive cases are between the ages of 20 and 39; 252, between 40 and 59 years old; and 107 are over 60.
Finally, Havana reported the highest number of new infections with 380, which keeps it as the epicenter of the epidemic on the island. Santiago de Cuba (76), Granma (70) and Pinar del Río (62) also had significant figures.
