Coronavirus in Cuba: three new infections between Havana and Artemisa

Two people were discharged and one was still reported in stable critical condition in Havana.

The Cuban health authorities today reported three new cases of COVID-19, after performing 3,075 tests during a day without deaths and with a slight increase in the number of hospitalized people or under surveillance in their homes.

They are Cubans; one was a contact of confirmed cases; in another individual the source of infection is not specified and a third had the source of infection abroad.

The man whose contagion occurred outside the island is 43 years old, and is a resident of Cerro. He came from Monterrey, Mexico at the time of his diagnosis. The remaining two are from the municipalities of Regla (Havana) and Bauta (Artemisa).

Two of the three new infections are men, two were asymptomatic and, by age range, one belongs to the group of 20 to 30 years, and another is over 60.

At midnight yesterday, 211 were hospitalized and 306 were under primary healthcare surveillance.

Cuba has processed to date a total of 240,894 tests, of which 2,469 have been positive.
