Haitian airline announces resumption of flights to Cuba

If they receive the approval of the Cuban authorities, the airline would begin its flights as of November 1 between Port-au-Prince and Santiago de Cuba on a daily basis; meanwhile, it would cover the route between the Haitian capital and Holguín three times a week.

The Haitian airline Sunrise Airways announced the resumption of its commercial connections  with Cuba, after seven months of interruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, reported Prensa Latina.

If they receive the approval of the Cuban authorities, the airline would begin its flights as of November 1 between Port-au-Prince and Santiago de Cuba on a daily basis; meanwhile, it would cover the route between the Haitian capital and Holguín three times a week, the source indicated.

The airline plans to resume flights to Havana and Camagüey in December.

Sunrise Airways announced that it will use 19-seat Jetstream 32-type aircraft in its operations with Cuba.

The company began its flights to the island in February 2017, and since then it has maintained stable connections with the Cuban travelers’ market, motivated by the prices of products bought in Haiti and in high demand on the island.

According to the source, Sunrise also connects Havana with Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic.
