The eight deceased, with which the death toll from coronavirus now stands at 958 on the island, correspond to five men and three women, aged between 50 and 83 years and residing in municipalities of Havana, Matanzas and Sancti Spíritus.
Most of the infections are due to autochthonous transmission (1,073), 1,034 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases and imported cases dropped to 27.
The incidence at this point again involves Cuban travelers from Russia (18), Spain (three), Colombia (three), the United States (two) and Chile (one). Eight foreigners also tested positive, three of them due to autochthonous transmission, after 22,407 samples were processed, according to the MINSAP.

On the penultimate day of May, the month with the worst statistics related to the coronavirus pandemic on the island, the number of patients in intensive care had discretely decreased to 145 patients, 52 in critical condition and 93 in serious condition.
Four were reported in pediatric ages among those in ICUs. The number of diagnosed in this age group was 166 today and they were part of the 192 diagnosed under the age of 20.
By age group, 349 are aged between 20 and 39 years; 381 between 40 and 59, while there were 178 over 60 years.
Havana, with the highest incidence rate in the country, is followed by Mayabeque and Santiago de Cuba, and registered 497 infections. In this way, once again it has the highest number of cases in 24 hours, underlining its epidemiological situation whereby nine of its municipalities are part of the 12 that represent 32.9% of transmission in the last two weeks.
In addition, of the 105 events open in Cuba, 71 are in the capital.
The Sandino municipality of Pinar del Río has the highest incidence rate: 774.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 15 days.
By number of infections, the territories that followed Havana on Sunday were Santiago de Cuba (140), Camagüey (64) and Pinar del Río (54).
On the contrary, the special municipality of Isla d,e la Juventud reported the lowest figure, with four cases.
As of midnight, 26,694 people were under some kind of hospitalization due to this disease and there were 6,036 confirmed active cases.
Of today’s cases 46% were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis.
