Recovery work reported at Matanzas Supertanker Base

The province’s Raw Materials Recovery Enterprises, Havana and Artemisa, the OBE, CUPET and Hydraulic Resources, among other entities, are participating in the effort.

A month after the fire at the Matanzas Supertanker Base, changes in its image are reported due to the work of the forces of the Matanzas Fuel Marketing Enterprise and the Cuban Oil conglomerate (CUPET) brigades.

The province’s Raw Materials Recovery Enterprises, Havana and Artemisa, the OBE, CUPET and Hydraulic Resources, among other entities, are participating in the effort.

The director of the Matanzas Territorial Division of Marketing of Fuels, Rígel Rodríguez, described the dismantling of the tanks as a difficult and risky task due to the accumulated gases and materials, although he affirmed that another scenario can be seen.

He also stated that about a thousand tons of raw materials are being extracted from the area of ​​the incident for construction.
