The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported in its daily report an increase in infections caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus during Friday: 950, of which 931 were due to autochthonous transmission, the highest figures in the last two weeks.
Of that total, 917 were contacts of confirmed cases and Havana, which has the highest incidence rate in the country, followed by Granma and Pinar del Río, reported the highest number: 474 between autochthonous and imported.
The capital is followed by Santiago de Cuba (175) and Granma (94). Meanwhile, Ciego de Ávila (four), Sancti Spíritus (two) and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud (one) reported the lowest figures.

The national director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Durán, said in his daily appearance that once again there are increases in vulnerable groups: 109 under 20 years of age, 103 of them in pediatric ages, and of these seven infants (five less than six months). In terms of patients over 60 years of age, these were 162.
Bayamo has joined the list of 12 municipalities, of which 11 are from the capital, which account for 49.7% of the transmission in the last 15 days.
There was also an increase in the day’s imported cases, 19, mainly due to the incidence of Cuban travelers from Russia, Mexico, the United States, Spain, Italy, Ecuador and Panama.
Only one death from COVID-19 was reported this day: an 89-year-old man from Pinar del Río, a contact of confirmed cases. With his death, the total number of fatalities from the pandemic on the island is 414.
This Friday, there were 850 discharges and 21,736 people continued hospitalized until midnight: 3,417 were confirmed active cases. 66 patients remained in intensive care: 30 of them in critical condition and 36 in serious condition.
After the 20,935 samples processed yesterday, according to the MINSAP, it was learned that 48.8% were asymptomatic.
The coronavirus in Cuba has already left 20,994 infections in March, the month in which the deceased numbered 90.
