In the last 24 hours Cuba registered 735 new positive cases of COVID-19 and three deaths due to the disease, the national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Friday.
At the close of Thursday, 20,975 patients remained hospitalized on the island, of which 3,575 are active cases and 3,709 are under suspicion of having been infected with the virus, Durán explained in his daily conference on the epidemiological situation.

With the figures reported for yesterday, the total number of people infected by the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic in Cuba rose to 65,149, while deaths reached 387.
Of the new cases, 369 showed no symptoms at the time of diagnosis, 709 were contacts of confirmed cases, and the source of infection could not be determined in another 16.
Havana presents the worst situation in the country, with 396 new confirmed cases and an incidence rate of 278 infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
Durán warned about the increase in patients in intensive care, which number 75 at the moment, of them, 30 in critical condition and 45 in serious condition.
Likewise, the expert pointed out that it has not been possible to reduce the infections of patients in pediatric ages. During the day, 117 children under 18 years of age were diagnosed with the new coronavirus, 15 of them infants.
According to the MINSAP report, yesterday there were 753 discharges, which brings to 61,131 the number of patients who have recovered from the disease since last March.
