COVID-19 in Cuba: 63 new cases, 30 imported

Cuba reported 63 new contagions with COVID-19 at the end of this Friday, of which 30 are imported, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP). Of these 30 cases, 15 were from the Cuban capital, while the rest are divided into seven provinces and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud. The 33 autochthonous cases were confirmed in Pinar del Río (9), Havana (2), Matanzas (7), Cienfuegos (2), Villa Clara (5) and Santiago de Cuba (5), all contacts of already confirmed cases. Of the 63 positive cases (29 women and 34 men), 46 were asymptomatic, which adds up to 5,142 patients registered in this state at the time of diagnosis, which represents 62.9% of those positive for SARS-CoV-2 to date. 3,792 patients and 926 suspects are hospitalized for clinical epidemiological surveillance, and 2,382 are under surveillance by the health authorities. For the results of this Friday, 10,147 samples were studied, for a total of 1,093,175 tests, of which 8,173 have been positive. Cuba reports 28 new coronavirus infections, 35 patients are discharged

Cuba confirmed today 28 new cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the last 24 hours, a day in which 7,785 tests were processed and 35 people were discharged. The 26 autochthonous and the two imported cases of the day were detected in Pinar del Río (13 in three municipalities, including the case with a source of infection abroad, who resides in the provincial capital), Matanzas (one imported case in Cárdenas), Ciego de Ávila (12 cases in the provincial capital) and Santiago de Cuba (two cases in the main municipality). Of the total, 26 were contacts of confirmed cases and 26 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis. There were also no deaths on the day, which is why the death toll from the SARS-CoV-2 virus on the Island remains at 131. Until midnight yesterday, 2,286 people remained hospitalized and only two remained in intensive care, both reported in serious condition.

Coronavirus in Cuba: Santiago and Pinar add 45 of the 49 new infections

Cuba closes the first half of November with 49 new infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, mainly concentrated in the provinces of Pinar del Río and Santiago de Cuba. Between them there are 45 cases, according to the report issued today by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP). With the 24 new patients reported from the provincial capital, Santiago de Cuba has surpassed the westernmost territory of the island, which this time reported 21 new positive cases, from three municipalities. In addition, Havana reported two cases, one of them imported; while Sancti Spíritus identified one case in the main municipality. The second imported case in the day is from Camagüey’s provincial capital. Of the total, 46 of the new patients were contacts of confirmed cases and the source of infection is not specified in only one individual. On Sunday, 18 people were discharged, with which 7,078 patients have already recovered from the new coronavirus on the island. Only two people remained in intensive care until yesterday, both reported in serious condition. The number of asymptomatic patients was 49, which represents 79.5% of the day.
